After the meticulous treatment and care by our medical workers, and upon the assessment of the expert team, they have met the criteria of release and discharge issued by the National Health Commission for the COVID-19 cases and left hospital today. In order to ensure the health management of the discharged patients, related medical institutions in Shanghai will conduct necessary follow-up visits and observation for them.

II. Medical Treatment

We will work all out to ensure the treatment of COVID-19 patients in Shanghai. By always tightening up our line of defense against the virus and improving the normalized disease prevention and control mechanism, we will constantly strengthen the management in fever clinics, continue to improve the pre-test and triage, speed up the fast screening by moving forward the checkpoints and reasonably control the flow of people to effectively avoid the gathering of people in the area of fever clinics. We will also keep ramping up the capacity-building in these clinics and expedite the process to arm qualified medical institutions with dedicated CT to improve our imaging diagnosis.

By balancing both normalized COVID-19 prevention and control and regular medical services, medical institutions at all levels in Shanghai will further strengthen appointment-based medical services in staggered periods and carry out services in an orderly manner on the basis of preventing nosocomial infection to better satisfy the public needs.

Shanghai Municipal Health Commission will continue the supervision over the COVID-19 prevention in schools while ensuring the sanitary supervision over and inspection of various places and sites in Shanghai.

Upon the conclusion of the conference on the public health system building in Shanghai Municipality, we are actively putting the essences of the conference in place together with the requirements in the “20 Measures for Improving the Public Health System in Shanghai”. We will accelerate the modernization of the disease prevention and control system and continuously step up our response to public health emergencies in our megacity.

Tomorrow (15th of May) will be the 27th International Day of Families. The National Health Commission will launch a nation-wide publicity campaign and set up a parallel session in Shanghai. Themed with “Healthier Families and A Healthier China”, the campaign will focus on “Families” to uphold traditions and virtues in our families, safeguard each of our small families to build a healthy life for us all, and learn about latest trends to pursue a healthy life. The parallel session in Shanghai will hold activities so that many experts in our city will provide their interpretations on advocating a healthy lifestyle. Since the family is the cell of the society, it is our common wish that our families are all blessed with good health. Let us join hands together to build a healthier life in our families.
