Shanghai optimizes and adjusts standards on lifting positive cases from home quarantine.

The Office of Shanghai Municipal Leading Group on Preventing and Controlling COVID-19 releases measures as follows to optimize the measures on lifting COVID-19 positive cases from home quarantine after recovery and returning to work:

I. Positive cases may end their home quarantine and resume normal life and go out if they meet the following two conditions:

(I). They have completed 7-day home quarantine (the quarantine period is counted from the day when symptoms start showing or PCR / antigen testing returns positive result.)

(II) The symptoms have improved significantly or the cases have no obvious symptoms after the 7-day home quarantine ends.

II. Home quarantine continues if positive cases still suffer from fever or other symptoms on the 7th day of quarantine and may end if the cases meet the two conditions stated in the previous paragraphs.

III. Employees in special industries or on special posts should follow the stipulations of their industrial authorities on ending home quarantine and returning to work.

IV. The follow-up measures will be adjusted dynamically in light of actual condition of disease control.

Residents are still required to maintain personal protection and continue following the Three Key Points (i.e., wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing, and ensuring personal hygiene) and the Five Stills (it is still needed to wear face masks, ensure social distancing, cover face when coughing or sneezing, wash hands frequently, and open windows for ventilation as much as possible) in preventing COVID-19. Residents should wear masks appropriately, form the habit of hand washing and frequent ventilation, maintain social distancing and try to eat separately instead of dining together. Elderlies, especially those with underlying diseases, should avoid going out unless it is for necessary purposes and strengthen personal protection. They should also receive vaccination as soon as possible and be the first responsible person for their own health.
